Over 180 students at Matoshri College of Engineering & Research Centre, Eklahare, Nashik recently gained a competitive edge in the tech job market of 2025, thanks to a comprehensive seminar focused on emerging technologies and in-demand skills. The session, held at the Nashik campus on 21st January 2025, was spearheaded by Mr. Sandip Deshmane, a seasoned IT expert with over 22 years of experience in the IT sector. Mr. Deshmane provided invaluable insights into the evolving landscape of the tech industry and the strategies needed to succeed.

Navigating the Tech Terrain of 2025:

The seminar offered students a roadmap to navigate the rapidly transforming tech world. Mr.Deshmane highlighted critical areas like cloud computing, artificial intelligence and machine learning (AI/ML), cybersecurity, data science, and the increasingly important realm of Salesforce development. He emphasized the growing demand for Salesforce Developers, citing the platform’s widespread adoption across industries and the corresponding surge in high-paying job opportunities. He explained how Salesforce’s robust ecosystem and customization options make it a crucial tool for businesses, driving the need for skilled developers who can build and maintain Salesforce solutions. The seminar’s core focus was to provide students with tech insights, highlight the most in-demand skills for 2025, and showcase the high-paying job opportunities that these skills can unlock. He also touched upon the importance of soft skills like communication, teamwork, and problem-solving, which are equally crucial for success in the tech industry.

Interactive Skill Assessment and Personalized Learning Paths:

A key component of the seminar was an interactive activity designed to evaluate students’ current tech proficiency. This activity helped students recognize their tech knowledge and their familiarity with various technology tools and languages. Through a series of engaging questions, participants gauged their knowledge of programming languages, software development methodologies, and familiarity with various tech platforms, including Salesforce. Based on their performance, students were categorized into three tiers:

  • Beginner: Students in this category were guided towards foundational resources and encouraged to explore core programming concepts and languages like Python, Java, and JavaScript. They were also introduced to the basics of Salesforce, including its architecture and key features, and encouraged to explore Trailhead, Salesforce’s free online learning platform.
  • Intermediate: This group received advice on specializing in areas like cloud computing (AWS, Azure, GCP), data structures and algorithms, and delving deeper into Salesforce development, including Apex programming and Visualforce. They were encouraged to work on small projects to apply their knowledge.
  • Expert: These students were challenged to focus on advanced topics such as machine learning algorithms, cybersecurity best practices, and architecting complex Salesforce solutions. They were also encouraged to contribute to open-source projects and explore leadership roles, potentially mentoring junior developers. For each category, Mr. Deshmane and the team offered valuable guidance on how to improve and what areas to focus on to advance in the tech industry.
